DIY After Sports Soak

Looking to relax after a long run, biking, or hiking? If you need a recovery moment after a super intense training routine? Try this do-it-yourself recipe for a rejuvenating sports soak for jr some self-care post-workout.

Using pure essential oils, magnesium flakes, and more, this recipe can be stored in the bathroom for a quick, relaxing dip in the bath at a moment’s notice!


1½ cups Magnesium Flakes

½ cup sea salt

½ cup baking soda

3 teaspoons Jojoba Oil

10 drops Peppermint Oil

5 drops Eucalyptus Radiata Oil

5 drops Rosemary Oil  or Juniper Berry Oil



  1. Add the magnesium flakes, sea salt, and baking soda to a clean glass bowl and mix until well combined.
  2. Add in your NOW® Solutions essential oils. Continue to stir until the oil is evenly distributed.
  3. Store this sports soak in a large glass mason jar.

To use: Place ½ cup of the soak in the center of a  12 x 12 muslin cloth. You can also use a cheesecloth, bandana, cloth napkin, medical gauze or even a coffee filter. Take up the corners of the cloth and tie it with a ribbon or string. Place in your bath water or tie your herb bag over the faucet to allow warm water to run through, filling the air with aromatherapy. Relax and enjoy!
