NOW - Alpha Lipoic Acid -600 MG - 60 Vegetarian Capsule(s) - NPN: 80006315
NOW Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is naturally produced in the human body in very small amounts, but is also available in some foods. This 600mg dosage is our highest potency offering. Elevated blood glucose has been implicated as a leading indicator of metabolic syndrome, increasing the risk for a number of degenerative diseases. According to a survey of 685 herbalists, alpha lipoic acid was one of the 10 most frequently recommended dietary supplements due to its efficacy in reducing high blood sugar levels. Bioperine® is a registered trademark of Sabinsa Corporation.
DIRECTIONS & USE
Adult Dosage: Take 1 capsule daily with meals.
CAUTIONS & NOTES
Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Consult with a health care practitioner prior to use if currently taking any oral prescription medications, or have diabetes or a thyroid disorder.
Discontinue use if a skin rash or allergic reaction occurs.
Grape anthocyanins might inhibit the growth of Lactobacillus acidophilus. Theoretically, concurrent administration might prevent Lactobacillus acidophilus colonization of the gastrointestinal tract, avoid concurrent use.
Orally, skin rashes have been reported after use of alpha-lipoic acid.
Adverse effects are more common in patients receiving high intravenous doses.
If you experience sweating, paleness, chills, headache, dizziness, and/or confusion, discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner (as these may be symptoms of serious low blood sugar).
